Yea that sux for sure, but id release it on the due date regardless of its quality/finished state. Im cutting it close myself (not expecting to win or anything) but i really relate to the mind-trap angle. If i dont release it then im just gunna endlessly poke and prod it, and im rambling lol

Just do whatever will keep you motivated and arting! Next time you'll nail it for sure :D
